Brand & Style guide
v2 - Updated July 22, 2026
Design guidelines that inspire the best in students, staff and community.
An Introduction
The principles in this style guide promote a flexible and cohesive brand identity for Georgetown ISD. The purpose of this guide is to:
Reinforce our district brand and graphic identity.
Create a consistent experience across all platforms and communications.
Create a sense of community between our schools, departments, and district.
These guidelines are meant to facilitate best practices, and help users present communications in a way that best reflects our values.
It is important to note that these style guidelines are a work in progress. This is a living document that will undergo changes. Please refer to the version number for the most up to date information.
In the end, guidelines are just that—a guide. Always use your best judgment when creating materials and use this guide as a starting point.
-
To effectively use our brand, it is important to understand our district’s vision and mission.
Vision: Home of the most inspired students, served by the most empowered leaders.
Mission: Inspiring and empowering every learner to lead, grow, and serve.
-
We believe public education is the foundation of our community.
Our actions must be student-centered.
It is our responsibility to prepare students for their future.
Developing leaders is vital to our success.
Instruction should be designed based on the needs of the learners.
Community engagement enhances educational experiences.
As we strive to be a design forward thinking district, it is vital our brand embodies our vision, mission and beliefs.
-
The GISD “Brand” in particular refers to the assets that make up the “look and feel” of our district. Our distinct district “voice” is a product of our brand identity. Importantly, our brand is an important aspect of how our district is perceived by our community.
Brand = Voice
Please note, our brand identity is not static. Over time our brand will change and evolve to meet future needs.
Still, it is important to understand the foundations of our brand to help you represent our district voice.
-
Georgetown ISD’s style incorporates many neo-retro principals. We aim to combine nostalgic elements with modern sensibilities, breaking away from traditional education styling.
Additionally we aspire to provide our audiences with a definitive authoritative district voice, but with a playful twist.
