Share Your Feedback - Proposed Bell Schedule Adjustments for 2026-27

To improve service quality, efficiencies and reduce costs, GISD is reviewing bell schedule adjustments for the 2026-27 school year.

A recent transportation study recommendation calls for a minimum of 50 minutes between elementary, middle school, and high school bell times in order to maximize the use of our buses and drivers to run three routes.  

Current Bell Schedule:

• Elementary

• Start: 7:35 am

• End: 3:03 pm

• High School

• Start: 8:40 am

• End: 4:00 pm

• Middle School

• Start: 9:00 am

• End: 4:20 pm

On January 12, the following recommendation was brought to the board to achieve a balanced tier system:

Proposed bell schedule for 2026-27:

• Elementary

• Start: 7:30 am

• End: 2:45 pm

• High School

• Start: 8:20 am

• End: 3:35 pm

• Middle School

• Start: 9:10 am

• End: 4:25 pm
