Georgetown’s Jordon Vierra Named District 23-5A Baseball Coach of the Year

The Austin-American Statesman recently released District 23-5A Baseball Coaches and Players of the 2024-2025 Year, as well as coaches’ selections for All-District Teams. For the third year in a row, Georgetown High School’s Jordon Vierra was listed next to “Coach of the Year”.

“I’m incredibly honored,” Vierra said in a social media statement. “But this award can only happen with the incredible coaching staff that sacrifices all the hours, the support from our families, and of course, the PLAYERS! Great players make the coaches look good!”

The list includes GHS senior David Fluitt as District MVP, as well as 17 other talented student-athletes from GISD.

Defensive player of the year: McKennon Thorp, East View, sr. 
Relief pitcher of the year: Brandt Eastman, East View, jr. 

First Team All-District:

Second base: Mason Pullen, East View, sr.
Third base: Hayden Grooms, Georgetown, sr. 
Catcher: Josh O’Malley East View, sr.
Catcher: Connor Young, Georgetown, so.
Outfield: Tate Ritchie, Georgetown, sr. 
Outfield: Cooper Thomas, Georgetown, so.
Outfield: Luke Holley, Georgetown, sr.

Pitcher: Andres Uzcategui, East View, jr.
