EVHS, GHS Earn Heller Awards For Achievements in Musical Theatre

Every year, the Heller Awards for Young Artists brings together over thirty schools from the Greater Austin Area to shine the spotlight on students and teachers involved in arts education.

In the spring of 2025, East View and Georgetown both earned Heller Awards for outstanding achievements in musical theatre in the following categories:

Best Orchestra: "Sweeney Todd (School Edition)," Georgetown High School
Best Lighting Design: "Bright Star," East View High School
Best Featured Performer, Individual Category: Writer Collis, "Bright Star," East View High School

Both schools also received nominations across several categories:

Best Costume Design: “Bright Star,” East View
Best Music Direction: "Sweeney Todd (School Edition)," Georgetown
Best Music Direction: "Bright Star," East Viewl
Best Production: "Bright Star," East View
Best Direction: "Bright Star," East View
Student Achievement in Stage Management: Maggie Curtis, East View
Student Achievement in Stage Management: Elia Calzada, Georgetown
Student Achievement in Marketing:
Regina Diaz, East View
Student Achievement in Marketing:
Amity Wann, Georgetown
Student Achievement in Design
: Lake Facchini, Georgetown
