Another Year of Academic Excellence: GHS Volleyball Earns AVCA Team Academic Award

The Georgetown Lady Eagles are among 1,450 collegiate and high school volleyball teams across the country to receive the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award. 

The Award recognizes teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale (or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale), demonstrating their commitment to excellence both on and off the court. The Lady Eagles received the award for the first time in 2012 and have earned it every year since. 

“I’m super proud of the academic culture we have in our program,” Volleyball Coach Jenny Richardson said. “The girls know they are students first and that their success in the classroom will set them up for a good future, and this award speaks to their ability to manage their time, set priorities and work toward their goals.”
