Who is someone that has impacted you over the course of your school career?
Dr. Gleich teaches his macroeconomics class in a very engaging way, and he does it while actually treating his students like adults. He respects his students and gives them the freedom and responsibility to manage their own time and values -- just like college will be. He is one of the only teachers that I feel actually prepares his AP Students for college level classes.

Mrs. Hise is another teacher that goes above and beyond in making sure her AP Calculus students are prepared for the next level. In just a single year, she expanded my math skills more than I had in my entire education.

My band director, Mr. Justin Smith, has had a major impact on me. I have had the chance to learn from him over all four years of my high school career, and he has truly changed me for the better. Not only did he better me in the realm of music, but he helped me to grow as a leader and a friend. Being in band and serving as a drum major was truly the most unforgettable and rewarding experience of my life, and it would not be the same without Mr. Smith.

Finishing in the top 10 of my class, and participating in peer buddies for three years. I am proud to have persevered through all of the early mornings, the hot August practices and the freezing January practices as a member of the swim team, and breaking a minute in the 100 fly at regionals.

Who is someone or what is something you are thankful for?

I would like to thank my mom and dad for all the support they've given me over the years. From rides to swim practice to weekends in hotels at meets, they were always there for me.  I'm also grateful for my brother Charles, my sister Audrey and of course, my three dogs.

Also, learning some really challenging solos for marimba and marching snare and being able to perform them at the State Solo & Ensemble contest.
