STAAR Field Test Participation: February 2–6, 2026

During the week of February 2–6, 2026, selected Georgetown ISD students will participate in a STAAR Field Test. The STAAR Field Test is administered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to evaluate newly developed test questions and ensure they are fair, valid, and aligned to state learning expectations—particularly for future assessments that include writing components.

TEA has selected specific campuses and grade levels to administer the STAAR Field Test this year. Student participation is essential and plays an important role in supporting the development of high-quality state assessments for Texas students.

Campuses and grade levels participating in the STAAR Field Test include:

Georgetown High School – English I

East View High School – English II


Benold Middle School – Grades 6 and 7

Tippit Middle School – Grade 8

Forbes Middle School – Grade 8


Carver Elementary School – Grades 3 and 5

Frost Elementary School – Grades 3 and 5

McCoy Elementary School – Grades 3 and 5

Williams Elementary School – Grade 3

Any student in grades 3–5 testing in Spanish:

Field tests for English Reading Language Arts (RLA) consist of 13 test questions, including no more than one extended constructed-response question. Spanish RLA field tests include between 20 and 24 test questions, also with no more than one extended constructed-response question.
