High School Students Attend Trades Day 2024

On February 28, students from East View High School (EVHS) and Georgetown High School (GHS) attended Trades Day 2024 at the Williamson County Expo Center in Taylor.

Trades Day invites high school students in the area to engage in a day of learning about career opportunities in various trades and industries. Students participate in hands-on activities and mock interviews, connect with industry workers, and gain knowledge on how to access career opportunities right out of high school.

“Trades Day gave our students a chance to visit with industry professionals and get a firsthand look at opportunities that are available to them as soon as they graduate,” CTE Director Bretton Schulz said. “There are so many in-demand jobs in our area, and it was great to be able to give kids this opportunity to learn about them.”

Trades Day 2024 was put on by the Craftsman Center for the Trades and sponsored by Workforce Solutions Rural Capital Area, the Taylor Chamber of Commerce, Jobs Y’all and Samsung Austin Semiconductor.
