Georgetown ISD Announces Two New Elementary Principals

The Georgetown Independent School District named two new principals on Monday, May 19.

Dr. Angie Harris currently serves as interim principal at Wolf Ranch Elementary and will transition this summer to lead the team at Cooper Elementary School. Dr. Harris has more than 20 years in education as a teacher, special education director, district director, and principal.

"Dr. Harris is an accomplished leader who served Title I schools in Arizona, and we have been fortunate to have her leading this spring at Wolf Ranch,” said Padavil. “The Cooper Elementary staff expressed the desire to find an experienced principal with high expectations, good systems for support, who knows how to support bilingual learners. I am incredibly confident that Angie Harris meets and exceeds that criteria. I am thrilled she chose Georgetown ISD and Cooper Elementary as her next home."

Dr. Harris holds bachelor’s degrees in Special Education and Elementary Education from Western Governors University, a master’s degree from Lamar University in school leadership and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of West Florida.

Harris is excited to be part of the Georgetown community. She and her family have already explored library events, art expos, culinary tastings, and the San Gabriel Park and trail system. Harris is looking forward to finding more opportunities to lead, grow, and serve in her new community.

Hollee Braun currently serves as the principal at Mitchell Elementary and will transition this summer to lead the team at Wolf Ranch Elementary School. Braun has served 24 years in education as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal.

Hollee earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from The University of Texas—Austin, a master’s degree in educational leadership from Texas State University and holds certificates in life sciences (7-12) and principal (EC-12).

"Hollee has deep roots in Georgetown and has expressed her deep enthusiasm for leading our largest and fastest-growing elementary school,” said Dr. Devin Padavil, superintendent. “She has plans for engaging the community, listening to staff, and helping build on the strong foundation of Wolf Ranch Elementary. I'm excited to see how she will lead the Pioneers to the next level."

Hollee and her husband Andrew have been residents of the Georgetown community for over 25 years and are proud parents of three children, Hannah, Kaya and Luke, all whom are former students of Georgetown ISD.  She enjoys spending time with her family, exploring nature, and traveling.

In their new roles, Braun and Harris will lead their respective campuses toward the beliefs of Georgetown ISD, ensuring that actions and behaviors support the mission of GISD and advance the campus toward the vision of being home of the most inspired students, served by the most empowered leaders.

GISD administrators serve as instructional leaders with a commitment to hiring and supporting high-quality instructors to deliver high-quality learning experiences for every learner.

Both Harris and Braun will transition to their new roles this summer.
