Georgetown ISD Announces Campus Leadership Changes

The Georgetown Independent School District announced two new principals during Tuesday’s board meeting. Tosha VanMetre was named as incoming principal at Forbes Middle School and Jarred Dorhauer will take over the principal position at Village Elementary School.

Tosha VanMetre currently serves as principal at Carver Elementary School, where she has been since 2021. Previously, she served as assistant principal at Forbes Middle School, and during that time, Forbes was named a Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) Showcase School. While at Carver, Vanmetre led the Carver staff to earn its first CKH National Showcase School designation; she designed a master schedule to prioritize professional learning communities and a multi-tiered system of support (MTSS) for students. She is also proud to have implemented progress reports to help parents receive more specific feedback on their student’s academic performance and learner profile attainment.

VanMetre has a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Concordia University and earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Arkansas State University. Before she joined GISD, she served as mathematics teacher, instructional coach and associate principal in Manor ISD. Tosha lives in the Georgetown community with her husband Craig and two sons who attend school in Georgetown ISD.

She will begin her role later this spring, taking over the campus leadership position following the departure of Justin DelBosque who is serving as superintendent in Rocksprings ISD.
