Georgetown ISD Adopts New Strategic Direction

The Georgetown ISD (GISD) Board of Trustees adopted a new strategic direction during Tuesday night’s board meeting following an extensive discovery and exploration process that began in October and included feedback from more than 1,000 community members, parents, GISD staff members and students.

The new Strategic Direction highlights four priority areas:

  1. Student Learning, Growth and Progress

  2. Student and Staff Well-Being

  3. Staff Recruitment and Retention

  4. Community and Connectivity

Each priority area is supported by a picture of success and includes objectives that will guide the work on the district moving forward and will be evidenced in district and campus improvement plans.

“What I love about this new strategic direction is that it can be customized for each campus and department throughout the organization,” said Dr. Fred Brent, Superintendent for GISD. “It prioritizes district-wide objectives and provides for more frequent and transparent evaluation of progress.”
