Federal Impacts on Food Programs & How to Access Resources

Many forms of food assistance are expected to halt for families this weekend due to the government shutdown, including access to SNAP and WIC. As a reminder, students can access meals twice each day at school, and many families can qualify for free or reduced meal benefits.

If your family needs assistance and has not yet completed the free and reduced lunch application, consider filling out the form. Qualification can help your family access other benefits as well, including weekend student meals through Backpack Buddies.

Local food banks may also be able to help. Learn more about a variety of local programs, food pantries and other services in this Community Resource Guide.
