From Bartlett Electric Cooperative, Inc: 2026 Government-In-Action Youth Tour Opportunity for High School Juniors and Seniors
Youth Tour is an action-packed trip to the U.S. Capital with about 125 of students and
chaperones from across Texas. Students will visit the Washington National Cathedral, Arlington National Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Smithsonian Institution, memorials and more.
More than 3,800 past Texas students have participated in the Youth Tour since 1965.
Eligibility: Students who have completed their sophomore year of high school and whose parent or legal guardian is a member of Bartlett Electric Cooperative are eligible.
Contest Rules: Students must complete a 2026 Youth Tour Application and submit an essay not to exceed 500 words answering the following prompt:
Youth Tour students have an opportunity to visit with their congressman or woman while in Washington, D.C. As a member of an electric cooperative, write an essay about the concerns and questions you would discuss with your representative. Explain why these issues are important to you.
Essays must be attached to the completed application and submitted no later than January 30, 2026. Find more information and access the application here.
