Georgetown ISD Recognized Nationally as an Outstanding Community for Music Education

For the fifth year in a row, NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Foundation has recognized Georgetown ISD as one of the best communities in the nation for music education.

The Best Communities for Music Education (BCME) award recognizes districts who have displayed outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education accessible to all students as part of a well-rounded education.

“It is such an honor to receive this recognition from NAMM for five years in a row,” GISD Director of Fine Arts Carol Watson said. “Our music educators work tirelessly to provide exceptional music education to all students, and they do it with an undying passion for the fine arts.”
